Christiansen has announced that she will retire this August. Chief Christiansen has attended several MegaFlorestais meetings in the past, always bringing with her an enthusiasm for the spirit of international exchange and learning that defines the network. She gave her final presentation to MegaFlorestais leaders at our webinar on June 21st, 2021. You can view the video of her retirement announcement and farewell to her staff at USFS here. We will miss her dedication to our work but wish her well in her retirement.
The Department of Agriculture has appointed Randy Moore as the next USFS Chief; he will be the first African-American to hold the position. We congratulate him on this historic achievement and look forward to seeing him at future MegaFlorestais events!
