As the government of Lao PDR is revising its policies and laws on land and natural resources, eight official representatives participated in a study tour from october 8-12, 2012 to learn from Mexico’s experience in tenure reform and forest management. The tour was organized by the Rights and Resources Initiative, with the support of the National Forestry Commission of Mexico (CONAFOR).
The group interacted with government representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the CONAFOR, the Ministry of Agrarian Reform, and the National Agrarian Registry before visiting communities and community enterprises in the state of Quintana Roo.
