On April 18-25, 2010, a delegation from Nepal participated in an exchange to learn about Mexico’s experience in community forestry with the support of the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) and the National Forestry Commission of Mexico.
Six Nepalese from the government and the Federation of community Forestry Users Nepal (FECOFUN) were accompanied by three representatives of CONAFOR and one RRI staff. The group visited communities in the states of Michoacan and Oaxaca. They also stopped in Mexico City to talk to government officials and learn more about their community forestry program and support to local communities.
